Aerobic Respiration
I know that photosynthesis is the opposite of cellular respiration, but I have also read that plants give off waste from aerobic respiration. What are the electron acceptors in plants if not oxygen? Does the electron acceptor oxygen define the term aerobic respiration?

Plants also use oxygen as an electron acceptor in cellular respiration that occurs in their mitochondria. It’s the same respiration process as animal cells carry on.
