What is the reactant and product of photosythesis and aerobic cellular respiration?
Mar.18, 2010 in
Aerobic Respiration
Is this reaction endergonic or exergonic? State which one it is.
What energy source does photosythesis and aerobic cellular respiration use? and what cell organelles are involved in the reaction/
what is the role of ATP in the reaction

Aerobic respiration:
Glucose + O2 = CO2 + water + Energy (ATP)
Energy source: ATP (some ATP is required during the process before more energy is released)
Organelles: Mitochondria for aerobic respiration (anaerobic respiration can occur in cytoplasm)
Role of ATP: Energy currency of the cell; it provides energy when needed and it is used to capture energy released during breakdown of glucose.
Photosynthesis:
the opposite (except energy source is light)
Energy source: light rays from the sun
Organelles: choloroplasts
Role of ATP: 0
